How to Introduce Water Lentils Into Any Diet

Nowadays there are hundreds of different diets, Atkins, South Beach, autoimmune paleo, keto, anti-inflammatory, alkaline, just to name a few! Each diet comes with its own set of rules and restrictions. For some fruit is unlimited, others they are strictly prohibited. What can be frustrating for most is that these diets are not one size fits all. A particular way of eating may or may not work depending on your own body and genetic make-up. This is why your coworker lost 30 pounds on keto and you track every carbohydrate and the weight still won’t budge. Working with a qualified dietitian or nutritionist is the best way to identify how your body breaks down certain foods and which will be most supportive to your health-related goals.

At the end of the day, it is important to understand that humans in general require ample vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids, and antioxidants no matter what diet they are on. Our cells require specific tools to thrive and without them they cannot function at full capacity. So, no matter what diet you are on, make sure you are reaching at least the Recommended Daily Allowance for each vitamin and mineral each day. Unfortunately, this can be hard on more restrictive diets like keto, which is where supplements come into play.

Guidelines: Remove dairy, grains, sugar, legumes. Focus on quality meats, low sugar fruits, and plenty of vegetables.

Water Lentil Paleo Smoothie

2 scoops Water Lentil Superfood 
 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk 
2 cups baby kale 
 4 cups baby spinach 
 1 medium frozen banana 
 6 frozen strawberries 
1 tbs chia seeds 
 2-3 ice cubes

Blend on high until smooth.  


Guidelines: Reduce carbohydrate intake to 20-25 g per day and replace with fat. Protein intake remains moderate. 

Water Lentil Keto Chia Pudding

1 scoop Water Lentil Superfood 

2 TBS chia seeds 

 ½ cup full fat coconut milk 

 1 TBS MCT oil 

 1 tsp lucuma powder 

 ½ cup berries 

Pinch sea salt 


Mix all the ingredients, except chia seeds in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Pour mixture into a large mason jar and mix or shake in chia seeds. Place in fridge overnight and enjoy! 


Guidelines: Restrict high sugar drinks and foods as well as processed snacks. Focus on low glycemic whole grains, vegetables, low sugar fruits, diary, and meats.    

Creamy Water Lentil Avocado Dressing

1 scoop Water Lentil Superfood 

1 ripe avocado 

 1-2 cloves garlic 

 ½ cup cilantro 

½ cup plain Greek yogurt 

1 TBS lime juice 

 ¼ tsp Himalayan salt 

2 TBS olive oil 

 Filtered water 

 Place all the ingredients, except water, in a food processor. Pulse, scraping down sides until smooth. Add water until desired consistency is reached. Store refrigerated in an airtight container for 1 week.
